for major. ahead in ten minutes what the young bay area candidate has to say about his chance for winning. continuing coverage now of the deadly officer-involved shooting in valet owe that happened over the weekend. the family of two men shot by officers are refuting the police account of the incident. an according to investigators the officers fired at 21-year-old joseph johnson and 23 yeerd mario after one of them got out of the car with what appeared to be a gun. johnson is hospitalized. ramiro was killed. witnesses including ramiro's sister say neither men ever left the car. the two officers involved are on administrative leave during the investigation. san jose police have called off the man hunt for a suspect robbed medical marijuana dispensary. just about an hour ago pris reopened the area after a door to door search. the suspect remains on the loose tonight and police consider him arm and had dangerous. this morning at about 11:00 a.m.

shut down while workers installed the state of the art joint which allows the bridge to expand and contract up to 42 inches. just today they've been laying down steel plates and putting down a concrete overlay so drivers won't know the deck has been raised about 5 inches. that small lift will allow crews to continue installing barriers in the coming week. repairing signs, the final souchs will be putting concrete barriers back in. the project will be mostly done after this weekend and will fully complete in early 2013. so about 51 thousand cars go over the dunn bar ton bridge each day. those people must have heeded the caltran's warning about this closure like the san mateo bridge were traffic free. >> it was pretty smooth sailing, maybe a few more cars than i thought. >> driving about 7:30, and it was really clean really no cars at all. >> this will be the last full closure for this bridge so there may still be some nighttime lane

ktvu xanl 2 news. developing news out of contra costa county. that is where crews on the scene of a grass fire. we have pictures here actually e-mailed to ktvu within just the past 20 minutes. the county fire department say it is fire started just after 5:40 this evening in an unincorporated area nearby pittsburgh. the crews are working to contain the flames which are burning in a remote area. firefighters from across san jose have been keeping vigil around the clock at a hospital in support of a comrade who suffered cardiac arrest at the scene of a fire. remains in critical condition tonight but doctors say they are pleased with his progress. the 16-year veteran had been fighting a fire at st. patrick's church when he collapsed. siblings flew in from southern california to be by his side. actor michael clarke duncan has died.

warm spot morgan hill with 98 degrees. tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day, as well. a few more clouds, fog in the morning, a little slower burn off today. in temperatures slightly cooler, i don't think you'll notice that difference, though. three to four degrees inland at best. going to feel hot inland, warmer around the bay. fog tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. there it is or twhuz morning. temperatures in the valley there's your 90s, but temperatures around here you're going to get those 80 ts, lots of upper 70s. along the coast #50s and low 60s. tomorrow a lot like today but slightly keerl. as we go in time on track this tropic north as we get into wednesday, right, and wednesday morning that moisture is here. now, it can spawn thundershowers and that is's the concern so we'll be tracking this for you and hope and make sure that we're on it in case we do have any thunderstorms because, of course, that's the last thing that you want in the heart of our fire season.
